Q3 - 3 Week Mark

Okay,
3 weeks in and I have finished this quarter's round of assessments.  It took a lot of time, but all in all it allowed me to listen to them individually and also re-seat the class.  There were some issues to deal w/ and thoughts for next time:

• Difficulty of assessment leaned on the easy side (might not have given full indication of students' ability)
• Still had a handful of students who didn't sign up OR didn't show up for their time

Still need to reflect more on how to deal with those issues but I'm hoping to figure out some sort of solution.  The best part of it all was that the students showed improvement all around.

Next big goal/focus: SNAP GRADES @_@

Q3 - Welcome 2011

Another year has passed, and quickly Q3 is approaching (it starts tomorrow).

I have to admit that after midwest I really needed a vacation to just veg out and relax.  Now that school is starting up again, I am finding it pretty easy to get back in the mode and hit the ground running.

My goals for this quarter are as follows:
- Finish up PEP-T
- Work on improving the lower level skilled players in both orchestra
- Find a way to challenge the advanced students/prepare them to move on for next year
- Incorporate snapgrades into my routine as a way of improving parent communication
- Survive another quarter :-p

No concerts or anything this quarter but we do have the SO orchestra camp and we have to be ready by the end of the quarter to perform since after spring break there really is no time.  Oh I almost forgot a goal:
-Help to make CDBF honor band awesome
